Waiting for Katrina

October 7, 2010 (GBN News): In a bold political move apparently orchestrated by the Obama administration, Delaware senatorial candidate Christine O’Donnell has been tapped to replace Michelle Rhee as Chancellor of the Washington, DC school system. The appointment will be effective immediately. According to administration sources, the President persuaded lame duck Mayor Adrian Fenty to offer the post to Ms. O’Donnell – a move which at once removes a serious Tea Party threat to the Democratic senate seat in Delaware, and introduces a powerful new force to build on Chancellor Rhee’s reforms of the DC schools.

Ms. O’Donnell has been a controversial figure in the Delaware senate race, having admitted to engaging in witchcraft. But that could be a plus in her new job, says J. Fredrick Runson, professor of Parapolitical Science at Manhattan University. “Michelle Rhee just acted like a witch; O’Donnell may actually be one," Professor Runson told GBN News. "She can put a curse on the teachers union, and maybe even make the entire school system disappear with the sweep of a wand. Why, with her skills, she can be the Katrina that Arne Duncan has been waiting for!”

Under questioning by reporters, Mayor Fenty admitted that Ms. O’Donnell is probably not an actual witch. But, he said, “She did dabble in it. And you have to admit, that’s at least as much experience in witchcraft as Michelle had in education.”
